Qualifications

Experience

I’ve managed many specialized database such as Raiser’s Edge for the Development Department, Abra for the Human Resource Department, IBS Payroll for the Payroll Department, Fundware for AP, AR and General Ledger, Misys - Practice Management System, Computer Age Dentist - Practice Management Software, as well as American Contractor includes AP, AR, Job Costing, Estimating, Payroll & General Ledger to name a few. I've ensured that all applications are running correctly on Windows NT, 2000, or 2003 Servers.

Researched, selected and installed compatible hardware components and subsystems from a variety of OEMs, including exchange servers for multiple user e-mail systems, network servers, individual PCs; trained personnel in their operation; provided on-site troubleshooting, service and repairs as necessary. Researched ISPs and hosts for websites. Developed and installed multiple websites using HTML coding and editors, including FrontPage.

Researched, selected and installed name brand software, including LANs, databases, spreadsheets, word processors, graphics, and utilities from major manufacturers including Microsoft, IBM, Borland, Lotus, Novell, Xerox, Norton/Symantec, Netscape, MSWord, WordPerfect, MS Office, Excel, dBase, FoxPro, Paradox, PowerPoint, and Windows 3.1 thru Windows XP SP2, in a variety of industries including health care, real estate, landscaping, publishing, and fundraising, and trained personnel in their operation.

Installed numerous e-mail protocols including POP-3, exchange servers, web mail; and software, including Outlook, Eudora, Fire Fox, Netscape, Pegasus Clients for end users. As well as Microsoft Exchange Server with BlackBerry Enterprise Support.

Designed, coded, and maintain/upgrade three major websites for health care providers since 1995, generating over 5000 viewers monthly and attracting international traffic; and for a business whose sales increased by 500% within a year of the site’s going live.

Researched, selected, customized and installed vertical market and other specialized application software for health professionals, realtors, fundraisers, and telemarketers.

Designed, developed and implemented a database system to track over 20 years of substance abuse client data, to prepare reports, and to bill various governmental and private funding agencies. Assisted staff members with projects using Remote Desktop Protocol to assist users from my workstation; promoted several times from MIS Assistant to Network Administrator.

Prepared sales lead reports using nearly 200 different databases, with over a million records, and identified potential client lists; created and analyzed weekly statistical reports of sales calls; prepared carrier route pre-sorted lists for bulk mailings, converted all lists to ZIP+4 Postal Service standard, removing duplicates and expired addresses.

Experienced in accounting software, including payroll, with knowledge of general accounting principles.

Managed nationally franchised retail software store; selected new releases to be carried in inventory; gave demonstrations and lessons; configured and installed hardware, including peripherals and upgrade cards.

Technical Editor for Understanding dBase IV 1.1 by Alan Simpson, and four other dBase books published by Sybex Computer Books. Reviewed software for “BlueNotes,” the monthly newsletter of the San Francisco Personal Computer User Group. Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux.
